296 – Ginger Nuts

Poem number 296
.
Ginger Nuts
.
A squirrel always hides his nuts
Beneath a favourite tree
But a Scotsman puts them on display
For everyone to see
He thumbs his nose at underwear
No boxers, pants or thong
And if you said that dressed is best
He’d say that you are wrong
A kilt is all a Scotsman needs
To keep the cold at bay
That simple swathe of tartan
That he puts on every day
And who’s to say he’s got it wrong
His kilt is fine by me
That simple swathe of tartan
Hanging down above his knee
But I beg you Mr Scotsman
And I beg you once again:
Keep those hairy knees together
When you sit down on the train!
