316 – A Poultry Harvest

Poem number 316
.
A Poultry Harvest
.
A chicken only has two legs
I wish it had some more
Four legs could feed a family
And six would do for sure
Eight limbs could give us two legs each
A drumstick in each hand
Ten could feed the in-laws too
And twelve would be just grand
But no, there are but two nice legs
Per chicken, never more
Quick! Go and kill a dozen –
It’s your mother at the door!
