412 – Genghis Khan On The Autobahn

Poem 412

.

Genghis Khan On The Autobahn

.

Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

The pedal to the floor

His Empire’s gone

And he’s lived in Bonn

Since the spring of ’94

.

His Mongols, they all thought that he was dead

But he was only sleeping in his next door neighbour’s bed

Oh Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

You’re looking so well fed

.

You’ve been eating feasts

Instead of killing beasts

And now your weight’s immense:

You were sixteen-four

When you practiced war

And the fighting was intense

But now you’re simply working nine to five

You’re a massive bearded mammoth

You’re the fattest beast alive

Oh Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

Stop working nine to five.

.

Sharpen up your blade

Ditch the lemonade

Buy a horse and hire some men,

Write a battle plan

Set off in a van

And leave tonight at ten

A war would do your heart the world of good

Stop being an office flunky

And start acting like you should

Oh dear Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

Burn down your neighbourhood

.

Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

With the boot stuffed full of bombs

With a satellite

And some high tech shite

Communication comms,

He’s lean and mean and heading back to Bonn –

Perhaps someone should tell him

That’s his indicator’s gone

Oh dear Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

In a Volkswagen Sharon

.

Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

Stopped by police and bound to fail

As he didn’t see

That in this century

They put psychopaths in jail.

And so we reach the ending of our rhyme –

Leaving lovely Genghis

Facing up to doing time

.

Oh Genghis Khan

On the Autobahn

Bound and cuffed and doing time.
